Overnight flight to Madrid, Spain.

Day 1: Madrid, Spain (Arrival Day)

Enjoy a private airport transfer from Adolfo Suarez Madrid Barajas International Airport with a private vehicle and driver. A welcome package with your vouchers, a city map, and train tickets (if relevant) and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip. The Hotel is located in the heart of Madrid, close to the historic part of the city: Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Prado Museum, Retiro Park, and several other museums are within walking distance of the hotel. Facilities include satellite TV, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, safe box, and private bathroom. Use this time to explore Old Madrid. Your guided tour in the afternoon will take you on a tour of Madrid’s beautiful and historical neighborhood – Madrid de los Austrias and the city’s most important monuments.  In the evening you will enjoy an evening at Botin, the oldest running restaurant in the world dating back since 1725. Day 2:  Madrid, Spain (Tapas Tour)

After breakfast you’ll visit Toledo, A highlight of any visit is seeing the famous paintings by the 16th-century master, El Greco. Toledo was the setting for many of El Greco’s artworks, and a tour highlight is The Burial of the Count of Orgaz in the church of St. Tome. Toledo is a National Monument to Spain’s art and history, combining Arabic, Mudejar Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Surrounded by the River Tajo, the atmospheric walled town is crammed with churches and museums.

At night your guide will take you on a Tapas tour. Sample Spanish nightlife and Madrid’s tasty tapas on an evening walking tour that will tantalize your taste buds! Led by an entertaining foodie guide, this walking tour is the best introduction to the laid back Madrileno lifestyle. You’ll visit Madrid’s tucked-away corners and feast on tasty treats you would never discover on your own, leaving you with a lasting feeling for Madrid and its people, and an appetite for its fabulous food and drink! We’ll end the night with Churros and Chocolate. Overnight in Madrid (B, D)

Day 3: Madrid, Spain (Cooking Class)

Learn to make Paella and Sangría in the restaurant kitchen situated in Madrid’s historic Austrias area. This hands-on cooking class takes you through the process of preparing Spain’s best-known dish from the chopping board to the dining table. Behind the scenes in the restaurant kitchen, guests don their aprons and get straight to the task in hand in a bid to produce the perfect paella. Use the rest of the day to explore Madrid at your own leisure. Overnight in Madrid (B, L)

Day 4: Madrid, Spain (Segovia Day Tour)

Ancient hill-top Avila has been declared a Unesco “Heritage of Mankind” city, and is famous for its intact city walls and 90 towers dating back to the 11th century. The city was the birthplace of the mystic writer Saint Teresa of Jesus (1515-82) and is an important pilgrimage site. Next, it’s on to Segovia to see one of the best Roman-era monuments on the Iberian Peninsula – Segovia’s incredible aqueduct. Built in the time of Augustus, the aqueduct has 118 arches and is 10 miles (16 kilometers) long, although just a fraction of its length remains visible today. Segovia is also famous for its Alcazar, a beautiful 11th-century medieval fort that inspired the design of the Disney castle. Step back in time and imagine the medieval tournaments that once took place and the heroic knights who fought here. Overnight in Madrid (B, L)

Day 5: Barcelona, Spain (Travel Day)

After breakfast, we’ll travel to Barcelona. Sit back, relax, and allow the stunning Castillo scenery pass you by during this relaxing train ride departing Madrid and arriving in Barcelona.  The approximate travel time is 2 1/2 hours.

Barcelona is one of the hippest, most beautiful and vibrant cities in the whole of Europe. Your Barcelona self guided walking tour provides the perfect addition and introduction to our itinerary in offering you a relaxed, exciting experience in which you will be more inclined to explore freely and confidently on your own. You’ll follow into the footsteps of the legendary Architect Gaudi. Walk the Barcelona of the 1900’s, in the neighborhood of “El Ensanche”, discovering the temple of “La Sagrada Familia”, Gracia Avenue with the houses of Gaudí, and the Batlló House. Other sights to be visited are the Paseo de Gracia, and the facades of Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. (Tickets to Casa Batlló, Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera are not included)

Later that night you’ll feel the passion and heat of Spain’s traditional dance at a flamenco show. Be swept up in the rhythm as an internationally renowned flamenco group of artists perform Spain’s national dance, against a background of beautiful Spanish tiles inspired by Granada’s Alhambra. No trip to Spain is complete without experiencing flamenco in Madrid. Overnight in Barcelona (B, D)

Day 6: Barcelona, Spain (Cooking Class & Market)

After breakfast, we’ll take a visit to the famous Boqueria market previous to the cooking class and learn all the clues to get the best and freshest ingredients for your Spanish cooking. We’ll return to the kitchen and continue with the cooking experience and finish the adventure enjoying the menu prepared in a friendly and casual atmosphere. Afterwards, enjoy free time. Overnight in Barcelona (B, L)

Day 7: Barcelona, Spain (Montserrat & Wine Tour)

After breakfast, we’ll take a day trip outside of Barcelona and visit the spectacular Monastery on top of mount Montserrat. We’ll take a journey to the picturesque ninth-century Monastery of Montserrat, which inspired the composer Richard Wagner as he wrote Parsifal. The monastery’s Black Virgin attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. If you’re lucky, you might hear the strains of hymns sung by the site’s world-acclaimed boys’ choir during your visit.

Next you will explore the Cava country of Cataluña (Cava is the Catalan version of the French Champagne). Your day is rounded off with a great lunch of great Catalan cuisine in a traditional restaurant and followed by a private, generous wine tasting of 3-4 wines in a boutique vineyard cellar. Overnight in Barcelona (B, D)

Day 8: Barcelona, Spain (Departure Day)

Return to USA or extend your trip.

Upon receipt of your reservation form and deposit, our reservations team will prepare your summary of purchase and supplementary forms, and review any special requirements for the tour and services you have requested. Trip Terms & Conditions

  • Your deposit is due immediately on booking ($300-nonrefundable). The balance is due 90 days before date of departure and 120 days for dates during high season (May, June, July, Aug, and Sept).  Your final payment due date will be noted on your “Summary of Purchase”, which will be attached to your confirmation email.
  • Cancellations of confirmed bookings. Between 120 and 90 days of departure, minus a $300 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, train, tour or hotel deposits). Between 89 and 60 days, 30% charge of total price. Between 59 and 30 days, 50% of total price. Less than 29 days, 100 % of total price.
  • Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
  • Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
  • Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.

Flexible Payment Plan Option

Pay for your tour on your schedule. Simply pay your $300 deposit (nonrefundable) when you book then make 2 installment payments (We will set a time-table according to your needs). Just be sure to pay the balance by your final payment date, usually 90 days prior to departure for most tours, and 120 days prior to departure for high season tours. We’ll let you know when your final payment is due. Administration fee $25 per person.
