Recreational

Whether you choose a cooking class for casual entertainment or to start a culinary career, our culinary instruction should improve your talent in the kitchen. If you are new to cooking our classes will teach you essential cooking techniques. If you are experienced in the kitchen you’ll be able to brush up on basic cooking skills, experience new cuisines, and learn advanced culinary techniques. Wynton’s World cooking school has something for everyone.

Hand-made pasta? Sashimi? Medium-rare rack of lamb? Port reduction? With our help, you can do it all! In Wynton’s World cooking school, you won’t only learn the right cooking techniques, but discover the local farms, fishmongers, and butchers who are as passionate about gastronomy as you are. We don’t dumb things down. With proper training and practice, your home cooking can rival the best restaurants of the triangle area.

Our cooking classes focus on techniques rather than on recipes. We keep the class size small (12 students max) and make sure you get plenty of hands-on practice. We encourage you to get messy and learn by doing, not by following along in your recipe handout.

general information

What should I wear to my class? We recommend that students wear closed-toe shoes to class and to dress appropriately for a cooking environment. Open-toed shoes, and flip flops are not recommended to be worn during class. We ask ladies with long hair to bring/wear something to maintain to prevent from getting in food products during food preparation.

We will provide an apron during the cooking class.

Are your classes hands-on? All of the classes both for adults as well as kids at Wynton’s World are hands-on cooking unless it is noted in the class description as a demo class.

Little Chef's Experience

These classes allow children to have experiences with food in the kitchen while improving developmental skills appropriate to their age.

The Little Chef experience is a great way to introduce children to cooking at a level where they can be active participants and learn to make fun, healthy food. The classes are meant for children 2 to 3 and 4 to 6 years old.

During our class, we explore a new simple, fun recipe focused on a particular theme. Cooking involves a lot of different skills such as language and fine motor in order to accomplish the recipes, and children in the class will have the opportunity to practice all of these. We have a plethora of recipes and food themes to choose from: Halloween Treats, Pumpkin Madness, and Fall Inspired Feast.

The Little Chefs Experience provides the kitchen, the tools, the food, the recipes and the instruction. This is no ordinary Cooking class! Not only will we have fun in the kitchen while making delicious treats, but we will also work on important developmental skills at every stage.

What’s included?

  • 1 cooking lesson with recipes. Each lesson is 45 minutes, which includes an individual space for each child with tools and ingredients.
  • Suitable for children 2-3 and 4-6 years old
  • A complete cooking hands-on experience with a developmental focus

Most classes, which are limited to about 8-10 students, take place in the day. The fee for each class is $35.00
